EOS: Award-Winning Energy Management for Hospitality

More than just a thermostat, EOS is a transformative energy management platform for hotels, helping you reduce energy wastage and costs in an award-winning design featuring powerful technology.

Industry-leading Energy Savings

Today’s solutions deliver little to no energy savings in your hotel rooms.

Instead of relying on inefficient keycard holders, that guests typically render useless with a second card, EOS uses advanced sensors and its PMS interface to determine room occupancy, delivering industry-leading savings without compromising on guest experience.

Don’t just take our word for it.

During an independently audited pilot in a customer’s building, EOS delivered…

Reduction of CO2 emissions per upgraded thermostat

Without disruption to operations or guest experience

Savings on heating & cooling energy consumption in rooms

What makes EOS stand out?

Advanced Energy Management. Substantial Energy Savings

Even if your hotel enjoys high occupancy levels, rooms frequently stay empty for most of the day while guests are out. Traditional key card holders are meant to save energy during these periods, but are often bypassed with secondary key cards, or completely disabled. EOS makes these energy-wasting key card holders obsolete, using its powerful sensors and integrations with the property management system and door lock to determine guest presence, reducing energy consumption when rooms are empty.

Installation & Commissioning.

With its simple and globally compatible installation mechanism, paired with a revolutionary app-based one-touch commissioning process, upgrading to EOS can be achieved in 20 minutes per room. So you don’t have to worry about operational disruption and having to take rooms out of service. Our deployment process has been designed so that the installer can work alongside your daily housekeeping schedule.

In 20 minutes.

Guest Services. Staff Efficiency.

EOS is more than just a thermostat. It can also help you provide better guest service and optimise your team’s efficiency: optional Do Not Disturb and Make Up Room functions ensure guests receive the service they requested or the peaceful nap they needed. This also eliminates the need for staff to manually look for signs on the door handle, as all room status indicators as well as guest presence are visible in the INTEREL.io dashboard. It doesn’t stop here: EOS can also communicate directly with your workflow systems from HotSOS, Knowcross, or FCS, making the process even more seamless.

Your Door Locks. Now Online.

A connected door lock enables a number of operational and security benefits for your property, such as guest stay extensions without having to re-issue keys, lost card deactivations, audit logs, and low battery alerts. Traditionally, this required a dedicated network infrastructure, adding cost and complexity. No more: EOS’ built-in wireless connectivity acts as an Internet of Things infrastructure for your Assa Abloy and dormakaba locks, allowing your hotel to take advantage of these features at a fraction of the cost and effort. At the same time, EOS uses the access and door events it receives from the lock to optimise its energy saving algorithms, without the need for a dedicated door contact.

More features and reduced total cost of ownership.

And a lot more….

 Frequently Asked Questions

  • Energy saving through smart thermostats will be a mandatory item for new openings and on the renewal of the HMA. Our EOS smart thermostat are aimed at both retrofitting hotels by replacing existing thermostats, as well as all new builds. Luxury properties can also benefit from more advanced options using INTEREL’s Guest Room Management System.

  • EOS works with a wide range of HVAC systems. Once you contact us, our partner in your region will conduct a full technical assessment of your property.

  • EOS has been designed to fulfill all hotel requirements, however INTEREL also offers its award winning guest room management system (GRMS), that provides the guest experience, features and integrations specifically required by the luxury segment, particularly for new construction and deep renovations. Contact us to receive more information on this option.

  • The savings and ROI period are heavily dependent on many variables that differ from property to property, such as local climate, existing HVAC central plant equipment building insulation, occupancy, regional energy cost, and guest profile. Typically, EOS can deliver energy consumption savings on heating and/or cooling of up to 35% compared to traditional thermostats with no energy saving mechanism. In a country with enrgy costs among the lowest in the world (0.12$/KWh), payback periods usually range between 2-3 years. For comparison, the average cost per KWh in Europe in 2023 was much higher, with some countries experiencing as much as 0.40€/KWh, resulting in an even better ROI and a sharp reduction of the payback period.

  • Great! In most cases, EOS will be able to interface with your door locks with no additonal hardware requirements, and you can take advantage of a simplified infrastructure and at the same time eliminate the need for a dedicated door contact to support EOS’ energy saving algorithms.

  • Even if you already removed your key card holder, EOS will be able to deliver additional savings on the main energy consumer in the room, namely the heating and/or cooling system, as well as support your Internet of Things strategy and optimise your guest service and staff efficiency. Contact us and we will work with you to determine the best option.

  • EOS installation typically involves input from the Engineering and IT teams, as well as support from Front Office and Housekeeping to determine the installation schedule and minimise any operational disruption.

  • EOS has been designed to work with your existing cabling infrastructure and typically does not require additional cabling. Should there be a need for additional cabling or replacement of existing aging cabling infrastructure, this will be evaluated and proposed during the technical qualification.

  • No, EOS works with your existing WiFi infrastructure and requires minimal configuration to set up. A full guide is available for your IT team or managed network provider to simplify the process.

  • EOS uses industry standard authentication and encryption mechanisms to secure all data flow. The EOS cloud platform is hosted by Amazon Web Services. When integrated with a door lock, EOS can only access events dedicated for its energy management functions, and does not receive private details, such as which guest or staff accessed rooms.

  • Please contact us to get your budgetary quotation. As part of the technical assessment, the INTEREL Partner will provide additional information such as schematics and data sheets.
